REVOLT RV 400 Electric Motor Cycle

Revolt Motors launched its very first AI enabled electric motorcycle in India. Lets look at what it has to offer and can it replace conventional combustion engine motorcycles ?

Here are the Specs...

The bike we are talking about here is RV 400.  It has a Lithium Ion battery with range of 150 km per full charge. That means you can complete trip of 150 km on single full charge,which is an impressive figure. It takes about 4.5 hours to fully charge the battery and 3 hrs. to reach 75% charge. Bike has 3 KW electric motor. The bike offers several mode switches that will tune the output performance accordingly for example there are three modes namely Normal Mode, Sports Mode and Eco Mode. These modes vary in the battery range and the max speed. For Normal Mode, range is 100 kms and top speed is 65 kmph. For Sports Mode, range is 80 kms and top speed is 80 kmph. And for Eco Mode, range is 150 kms and top speed is 45 kmph. Talking about another important aspect that is carrying capacity or load capacity of which the maximum is 150 kg / 2 persons. The riding position also impresses with adjustable foot pad positions and adequate space between seat and the handlebars.

The bike is light weight with kerb weight less than 110 kg, 108 kg to be precise. The length of the vehicle is 2156 mm and the width is 813 mm. Also the Height is 1112 mm. Wheel base of 1350 mm which is pretty standard and the bike does not look small in any ways. There are disc brakes both at front (240mm) and end (240mm). Front suspension comprised of Upside Down Forks type and rear suspension is a Monoshock (Adjustable). Bike has ground clearance of 215 mm and raider seat height is 814 mm. The bike comes with 17 inch alloy wheels with front 90/80 17” and rear 120/80 17”
The bike has full digital instrument cluster responsible for showing Speedometer, Tachometer, Low Battery Indicator, and Trip Meter.

Is it AI enabled?

Yes !! It is interesting that bike is AI enabled with IOT implementation and the bike has a dedicated android application. It is 4G connectivity enabled. As the bike is electric it does not have any engine sound of its own. To add the feel, company has provided bike with a built-in speaker dedicated for producing sound, the fun part is that you can choose one from the three different types of engine sounds that we can select using the application. Also we can control the volume of sound. The application shows battery status, bike location and let us on / off the bike. A useful feature is Geo-Fence using which you can select Geo Fencing area for your bike meaning if your bike goes beyond that area / fence then the bike will automatically shut down. You can set radius for fencing with maximum of 50 km radius. Another cool feature is battery swap option in which app will show you the revolt battery swap center location where you can go and exchange you bike’s battery with another battery. Application also shows your trip details.

Variants and Price

The company offers two models RV 300 and RV 400 . Visually, RV 300 and RV 400 are not very different. Both has hexagonal LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs, wide handlebars and stepped-up single piece seat design. However , the major differences includes color options RV 300 is available with Neon Black and Smokey Grey colour options while RV 400 is available with Cosmic Black and Rebel Red colour options. Also RV 300 is slightly compact as compared to RV 400 but has higher ground clearance. RV 300 comes with only one variant with a standard features list while RV 400 comes with a base and a premium variant where premium variant is loaded with features like the three-year 4G connectivity package is included , also includes one-time tyre replacement within three years of ownership and features like bike immobilizer , remote key , push start and sound simulator system which the base version and RV 300 miss out on.

RV 300

Price – Rs. 2,999 pm for 3 years and the additional Rs. 5,000 for 4G connectivity, totaling to a cost of Rs. 1,15,963 after three years.

RV 400

Base – Rs.3400 pm for 3 years and the additional Rs. 5,000 for 4G connectivity, totaling to a cost of approx. Rs.1,34,463 after three years

Premium – Rs. 3,999 pm for 3 years, total cost approx. Rs.1,47,963.

Bottom Line

If the company maintain a good network of service centers / revolt swap centers pan india, this motorcycle can show triumphant potential as a replacement for combustion engine ones.

Huracan Evo Spyder is the latest line up from Lambhorghini. It takes just 17 seconds to load the Evo Spyder's soft top, which can be performed at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 kmph). Situated at the back of passenger compartment is its 5.2-liter V10 engine that delivers 631 horsepower and 443 lb-ft pound-feet of torque. Huracan Evo Spyder sprints to 62 mph (0-100 kmph) in a mere 3.1 seconds. This sportscar comes with price tag of $287,400.

Mc Laren has always been forward in making high performance sports cars. 720S Spider is the latest addition to its family which is roadster version of 720S coupe. It has 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces massive 710 bhp and 568 lb-ft torque. This is one real quick car  0-62mph takes 2.8secs and 0-124 mph (0-199 kmph) is accomplished in 7.9 secs. Without a doubt, it's one of the most powerful convertibles on the planet.

4. Bugatti Centodieci

The Centodieci is the most powerful Bugatti ever built. The 2020 Bugatti Centodieci is a limited edition versio of Chiron. Bugatti has done tremendous work on design to make every change functional. Centodieci is 20kgs lighter and offers 90 kgs of additional downforce over Chiron. Talking about the engine it encompasses 8 L quad-turbo W16 engine that produces whopping 1600 hp as a result Bugatti can get from 0 to 100 kmph (0-62mph) in just 2.4 seconds. The top speed of this car is limited to 380 kmph. $8.9 million price tag makes this limited edition car stand out. 

5. koenigsegg Regera

Koenigsegg Regera , is a Swedish hybrid hypercar. Powered by a 5.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine and three electric motors that helps achieve its unreal output. It creates combined power equivalent to 1479 bhp and 1465 lb-ft torque. It accelerates form 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 2.8 secs. Top speed claimed by the company is 250 mph (402 kmph). Koenigsegg applied a specific new system they call Autoskin by which all body closures operate completely automatic at touch of a button.

6. Ferrari 812 Superfast

The name is enough, 812 Superfast is a powerpacked high performance range Ferrari and also replacement of the predecessor the F12 berlinetta. A massive 6.5 litre V-12 powers this mean machine and generates 789 hp and 530 lb-ft torque. It is literally superfast as it accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in just 2.8 sec and 0-100 mph in 6.8 sec. Top Speed is 211 mph.

7. Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Latest addition to 911 family is the Carrera 4S. Powered by 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine , capable of converting this beautiful car into a racing beast by producing 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The 4S can reach 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 3.2 secs. Talking about the top speeds, this car can touch speed of 306 kmph.

8. Mercedes AMG GT  

This year Mercedes launched its range of Mercedes-AMG GT cars. Varients encompasses GT, GT S, GT C and GT R more varients are to come. It comes with 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine .This pumps out power range from 469 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque to 550 hp and 502 lb-ft. The track focused GT-R version entends power levels all the way up to 577 hp. Top Speed is 189mph (304 kmph). The car touches 0-60 mph (0-97 kmph) in 3.9 sec.

9. Audi R8

With subtle tweaks and modest performance changes the 2020 R8 has arrived. With 5.2-liter V-10 engine that makes 602 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque for the performance variant, audi is serious in sustaining R8’s fame. It catches 0-60 mph (0-100 kmph) speed in 3.2 sec New R8 is having top speed of 205 mph (330 kmph).

10. Chevy Corvette C8

This is the 2020 Corvette, beautifully sculpted mid-engine sports car that impose a powerful presence. Corvette has improved functional aerodynamic components. The powerhouse situated at the back is a 6.2 Litre V8 that produces enormous 495 hp. Th claim regarding acceleration is of 0-60 mph (0-100 kmph) in 3.0 sec. Top Speed is 194 mph (312 kmph).

Kia Seltos. What are the Unique Features in favor of Seltos.

South Korean car manufacturer Kia officially unveiled its premium compact SUV 2020 Seltos in India. In the class it already has rivals like Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and Renault Captur. Lets talk about its dominant features.

Interiors

The interiors looks premium and up class with adequate use of leather on dashboard and lounge-like cabin design. The interor is loaded with pretty cool features like ventilated front seats, wireless mobile charging , ambient lighting , a 10.5 inch infotainment display, Bose audio system, UVO connected car tech, rear door sun shade curtains, automatic climate control, reclined rear seats, powered driver seat and the must have electric sunroof. Seltos also features a segment-first Smart Pure Air Purifier, made with Hepa Filter which purifies the air , preventing microorganism growth.

One stand out feature provided in Seltos is its heads-up display. The retractable screen displays speed and navigation details and minimises the need for drivers to take their eyes off the road.

At the rear, you don't have as much knee room as offered by Tata Harrier or MG Hector but on its own its quiet good.



There are loads of storage spaces inside and talking about the boot itself it is large enough with 433 liters capacity. The 60-40 rear seats folds completely that adds to the total space and enhance usage of boot.

Safety

Seltos has 6 Airbags , Anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, blind spot view mirror, Hill start assist , vehicle stability management, brake assist and rear parking sensors. 

There is also a 360 - degree surround camera. It also offers the first-in-segment front parking sensor.
